What is Girls Movement for Good?
Movement for Good exists to create connection through a shared love of movement—encouraging people to get outside and move because we can and because we want to, not to prove or provide anything to anyone else.
 
We’re proud to introduce a new series of girls-only events, designed to break down barriers and offer a safe, welcoming space to try new activities, build confidence, and connect with a supportive, like‑minded community that shares a love of the outdoors.

Join us for a day in nature, hiking the Peak Hill track, Lake Coleridge.
 
Event Details
Whether it’s your very first-time hiking or you’re an experienced adventurer, everyone is welcome. The plan is to meet in town and travel as a group to Peak Hill, Lake Coleridge, which is about an hour and a half drive. The hike will be a 3.5 hour out & back, with approximately 623m of elevation gain across 5.8km. Moderate to strong fitness is recommended but if you do find you can't complete the full distance, helpers will be able to return you to the start of the trail.

Spots available: Limited to 20 participants

When?
Saturday 25 April
7:00am: Meet at the Foundry Carpark, University of Canterbury.
7:15am- 8:45am: Travel to start of Peak Hill Track
9:00am - 12:30pm (3.5 hours): Hiking and return to vehicles
12:30pm: BBQ and refreshments.
1:30pm - 3:00pm: Return to Christchurch

What do I need?
 
Mandatory Gear:
- Closed toe hiking or trail running shoes
- Backpack (7L Plus)
- Rain Jacket 
- Thermal / Insulated Upper Layer & Beanie / Warm Hat
- Sun protection (Hat / Sunglasses / Sunscreen)
- Water (1L Plus)
-  Snacks 
- Positive, can-do attitude
